Citizenship

There's something about the Gospel that makes it shine so much brighter than any other "hope" or religion that this world has to offer. After attending Campus Church last week, I was able to learn that studying Christianity will result in gratitude, humility, and hope- and no other religion can offer all 3 of those things!
I think one reason the Gospel is so fulfilling for our lives is because it makes us realize that we were not made for this world. So many spend their lives looking for "something more," wondering why they are never satisfied. Even people who have grown up in church their entire life have searched and scrounged every dark corner for the answer to the all-consuming question of our source of satisfaction.
When we realize we really were not made for this world, but for a glorious sanctuary in Heaven in order to worship the Most High God, then we will have true satisfaction- mostly because every single action that we make every single day will be (or should be) made with that in mind!
"But our citizenship is in Heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body." -Philippians 3:20-21

Our citizenship is in Heaven, not on Earth. How cool would that be to have Heaven written on your passport? I mean really.
"Instead, they were longing for a better country- a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them." -Hebrews 11:16

So, I don't know about you, but my citizenship is in Heaven. And because of that, this redeemed sinner is going to try to live each day with Heaven in mind. I don't think it'll be the easiest thing I've ever done, but I do love seeing others exit the gates of unsatisfaction and discontentment to be instead filled to the brim with the gratitude, humility, and hope that the Gospel provides! And in the midst of all that, God's getting alllll the glory. What if each professing & genuine Christian lived intentionally, with their citizenship in mind? I'm thinking the Kingdom would have a lot more people added to it. God would love a few more voices singing praise to Him in the city that He's prepared for us!
