To-go list

Sometimes I post things on here in impulsive spurts- today is that kind of day!
I have been missing the international scene a lot lately. I am getting extremely antsy again to get off American soil and onto foreign land... it's been almost 2 years, and I am SO ready! So what places are on the list, you ask? Here's a few at the top of the list:

The Middle East. Call me crazy, but the women there have been put heavy on my heart and I can't help but really really really want to go there. I once met a pastor on a ski lift (so random) who encouraged me to go to the hardest places- even the Middle East. He challenged me to think about my motives behind sharing the Word, despite "common sense" and "safety." His words have stuck with me since then in a deep way. By the way, if anyone has read Three Cups of Tea they should let me know if it's worth the read- I'm thinking yes!

Africa, of course! Good thing that's actually happening soon, Lord willing. :) The funny thing is that the devil is trying his absolute hardest to keep me from going, but the Lord's sovereign purpose will remain!

The deep Amazon region- most specifically Peru!! They have llamas and the jungle, and it just seems like a really cool place to go.

Myanmar/Burma. I have fallen in love with families in BG from that beautiful country, and I would looooove to go visit their country to meet even more of the people!

Back to Guatemala, to meet my sweet sponsored girl Gloria. How awesome would that be?!

Back to Indonesia, of course. It would mean the world to me to visit sweet friends there- not just in Bali, but across multiple islands! There is a large part of my heart set aside for those wonderful teman-teman and beautiful orang-orang.

...and that's just the beginning of the list. We can dream, can't we?

  1. I have Three Cups of Tea if you want to borrow it!
Also, a book that made the Middle East have a special place in my heart is the book "Facing Terror." (i love reading about the middle east and muslim people, they are probably the hardest people to reach) It is about a missionary in Iraq. It is an amazing story. I have that too if you want to borrow! Just thought I would share that!
